Transitions lenses

Transitions is a popular brand name for photochromic lenses. Photochromics are also known as Reactolite, Photogray Extra, Reactions and Graduations [1].

Transitions lenses contain photochromic dyes which darken the lens when exposed to UV rays from sunlight [2]. As light conditions change, the level of darkness adjusts, allowing just the right amount of light to reach the eye [3]. This allows Transitions lenses to help protect eyes from UV radiation, reduce glare, enabling clear vision in the bright daylight without eye strain and fatigue.

Both high street and online opticians offer photosensitive transitions lenses.
